Support for your Reproductive Journey
Therapy for fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and motherhood
The journey of trying to get pregnant, being pregnant, and transitioning to motherhood is often filled with mixed emotions and anxiety. Motherhood has a way of bringing up our past trauma, childhood wounds, and unresolved pain—making it difficult to regulate these emotions and show up the way you want for your family. Maybe you aren't feeling like yourself. Maybe the coping tools that used to work are no longer serving you. Or maybe your support system isn't as robust as you'd like it. Either way, I am here to help support YOU in this important life transition.
Therapy can help with:
Decisions to start or expand your family
Fertility challenges
Establishing healthy pregnancy habits
Anxiety & depression during pregnancy or postpartum
Birth trauma
Pregnancy or infant loss
Transitioning to parenthood "identity"
General parenting stress
Overcoming perfectionism in motherhood
Raising child with "extra needs"

Identity Development

Supporting Women through Perimenopause
Therapy for Perimenopause & Menopause
Similar to postpartum, perimenopause is a timeframe and not a “condition.” It is the time when a woman’s body begins to change and hormone levels fluctuate. Whereas menopause is a single day that signifies the end of her fertility journey, a woman may be in perimenopause as early as 10 years before that date. Which means, symptoms may start as early as mid-30’s. When you think of perimenopause, you may think of the classic physical symptoms: hot flashes, night sweats, and irregular periods. That can be true. But many women also experience bothersome physical symptoms like urinary issues, weight gain, heart palpitations, and sexual changes (just to list a few). They may also struggle with an increase or return of otherwise managed anxiety or mood symptoms, such as sleep disturbances, anger/irritability, loss of pleasure and motivation, brain fog, and intimacy challenges. The good new is that therapy can be a helpful resource for this timeframe.
Important ways that therapy can help support you through perimenopause into menopause:
Validation and psychoeducation around the biological, psychological, social and sexual changes your body is going through
Learn resources to help identify, track and monitor your own distressing symptoms to share with your healthcare provider
Support for improved communications and boundaries necessary to advocate for your changing needs (with care providers, intimate partners and family)
Learn evidence-based interventions designed to target and treat your primary symptoms (i.e. irritable mood, panic attacks, emotional dysregulation, sleep issues, relationship challenges, grief, etc.)
Brainspotting for Trauma
Brainspotting is a gentle, yet powerful therapy that helps lessen and resolve difficult symptoms and experiences. It uses the mind/ body connection to allow deeper access to your subcortical brain - where words are harder to reach; where survival mode, pain and trauma tend to get stuck.
“I am specially trained and excited to offer this really amazing tool to my clients’ healing journeys as necessary. Brainspotting is effective for a wide variety of emotional and physical symptoms, and is particularly effective with trauma-based situations, helping to identify and heal underlying trauma that contributes to anxiety, depression and other behavioral challenges.”
